The neighbourhood is named after a park in the area, which provides a sufficient amount of green-space, away from the bustle of Yonge St and Avenue Rd. Lytton Park is nestled away from these larger routes, covered with trees, and occupies 1.7 hectares of land. Amongst the trees and various walking paths there are three outdoor tennis courts which are lit and have an accompanying club house, two lit lawn bowling greens, and a playground for children. The Park houses both the North York Tennis club, as well as the North Toronto Lawn Bowling & Croquet Club, making it a popular spot for community gatherings.
Home to some of the most reputable schools in the city, the educational facilities in Lytton Park are a major factor drawing families to the neighbourhood. While various schools are present, some of the most highly regarded private and public schools include: Glenview Middle school, Lawrence Park Collegiate High School, and Havergal College girls private school.
Being accessible by car and transit allows for easy access to both the Downtown Core and the Greater Toronto Area. Highway 401 is only about a 5 minute drive to the north of the neighbourhood, being a major transit route in the area. Both Yonge St and Avenue Rd are routes that allow for easy driving access to downtown, allowing for roughly a 15 minute commute.
Lawrence and Eglinton subways stations, both located on the Yonge subway, are within walking distance in Lytton Park. The current construction of the Eglinton LRT will only heighten this already transit-friendly area!
